Blogger Love 1 Year Anniversary Event...

Hi Guys...

So I was very kindly invited to the Bloggers Love 1 year anniversary event on Wednesday at the lovely venue in Chelsea called Embargo59. As this was my first bloggers event, I was very excited. They had a fashion show, showcasing the Top 10 Brands to watch 2014. I really enjoyed the show, and the clothes that were being modeled were very nice, and I must say that I did have a good time.

I went with my friend who is a fellow blogger Eugenie from genielovedoll who has also done a write up of the event over on her blog. We didn't have the best seats in the house to take the best pictures, but I still hope that you enjoy :) x ...

This brand was my favourite out of all the brands that showcased their clothing. I loved this outfit in particular, because of the summery mint pastel colour and the boxy t-shirt goes nicely with the lose fitting shorts. I liked this outfit so much that I even made a cheeky purchase of the shorts the next day after going through the pictures of the event :)

My Lemon Cheesecake Recipe ...

Hey Guys ...

Here's a quick and easy Cheesecake recipe that I would like to share with you guys. I really love to cook and bake, so I really enjoyed making this. And it didn't really take me that long either which is a bonus. Just a little warning, this cheesecake is not for the faint hearted, and is also not the most healthiest either. Purchasing the ingredients was also very inexpensive. So if your on a budget, but still want to have a tasty desert for a dinner party, or just something to sit down and munch on whilst watching a film, then this is the desert for you...

I have adapted the recipe that I was following slightly, to make it more accustomed to the flavouring and way that I like my cheesecakes to taste...

Biscuit Base...

  • 30 digestive biscuits
  • 160g butter, melted
  • 3 tbsp clear honey

Lemon Mascarpone Filling...

  • 750g mascarpone cheese
  • 3 lemon, juice and zest
  • 200g/7oz caster sugar, plus more to taste
  • 4 tbsp icing sugar
  • 2 tsp lemon flavouring

Method...

  1. Brush the bottom of a 23cm/9in springform cake tin with some of the melted butter and place a round of greaseproof paper in the base.
  2. Crush the biscuits and tip them into a bowl, add the melted butter and honey and stir until well combined.
  3. Tip the mixture into the bottom of the cake tin. Using the back of a spoon, gently push the crumbs from the centre outward, until smooth and level. This will form the base of the cheesecake. Chill in the fridge while making the filling.
  4. For the filling, mix the mascarpone cheese, lemon juice and zest and caster sugar together in a bowl until well combined. Do not mix the mixture too much as this will cause it to split. Taste the mixture and add more sugar, to taste.
  5. Spoon the mixture into the tin on top of the chilled biscuit mixture and chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
  6. When ready to serve, either run a hot cloth or blowtorch round the outside of the tin and ease out the cheesecake.

Here is a link to the original recipe on the BBC food website if the quantities are not to your liking.

My Top Favourite Dark Lipsticks...

Hey Guys...

So I wanted to share with you guys a trend that I loved a couple of autumns ago, Matte Dark Lipstick Trend ... I really loved this trend when it came around as I have quite a dark skin complexion so bright lip colours don't quite suit me, or maybe I just don't have the confidence to rock them. I personally think that dark lips can be worn all year round, and not just in the autumn/winter seasons, so I have decided that I'm going to transition them into spring and also through to the summer as well. Some may say that spring/summer is the time for the light pinks, corals, nudes... But I personally think that all colours can be worn at any time, we just have to make them work for us, and work out different ways to wear them. Deep reds, dark purples, burgundy, these colours can bring an outfit together without making it look as if you've made much of an effort at all. So I would like to show you guys my top three dark lipsticks that I really love to wear.

Here are my top 3 dark lipsticks that I've loved recently.
All of these lipsticks can be purchased at Superdrug
The colours and brands will be listing them from left to right

MUA Matte Lipstick- Wild Berry
Rimmel London (Kate Moss collection)- Rossetto 107
MUA- Shade 3

Here are some swatches of the lipsticks

We don't always have to follow the trends that are in season. Trends have been put in place to inspire as well as to follow. But we can make them into what we want, and interpret then the way that we want to. Dress the trends and rock them the way that you feel comfortable, and you never know, maybe you might be inspiring someone else as well.
